How to activate the Netmonitor
by Luca Spallarossa '99

To activate the netmonitor you'll need an FBUS or MBUS cable. If you don't have it you'll can build it from yourself. Here are the schematics.
It's possible to enable the netmonitor even on 8810 - Click here for a brief description

If you already have a FBUS cable don't worry! Here you'll find how to modify it.

After having connected the phone to your PC start the PC Locals program. It runs under Windows 95 but it's better to run it in pure Dos mode.
If you don't have PC Locals you can try this program. NOTE: I've tested it and with MBUS cable works well !!

It's also possible to activate Netmonitor with IrDA (obviously only if your phone have an IrDA port...) with the program
that let you change startup logo and does many interesting things... and... most of all... it's shareware and very cheap!!

After the splash screen of the program...

Startup Screen (8863 bytes)

You'll have to set-up the com port where your cable is attached...

Settings (11158 bytes)

Then, after "Initializing connection"....

Initializing connection (9454 bytes)

Choose "MR Memory Functions" and once you arrive at this menu choose the menu 6

Immagine6.gif (15720 bytes)

Then type 243 ad Field Test Display to activate the full netmonitor

Attivazione del netmonitor (9541 bytes)

Or 241 to deactivate it

Disativazione netmonitor (13679 bytes)

And... good luck

PS: I've activated it on my 6150 (4.12) and 5110 (4.73). If you'll sucessfully activate it on your phone...please write me!
